My experience with writing creatively spans over two decades. I have been writing and completing work since I was still in grade school. I was first published before I could legally have a drink. I have experience writing novel-length fiction (I have completed two novels and am currently working on a third), creative non-fiction (a retelling of my travels hitchiking the west coast of the United States), poetry, lyrics, and most recently, comic book scripts.
I bring a unique combination of skills when I help you, as I also have nearly a decade of experience educating others and helping them with their writing skills. I have a degree in Elementary Education with a focus in English and was a classroom teacher for six years. Before I earned my degree, I worked at a community writing center as the youth program coordinator. This experience included teaching writing workshops at Boys & Girls Clubs, the Homeless Youth Resource Center, Primary Children’s Hospital, as well as GED programs in the county jail. I have co-facilitated paid workshops on topics such as creative writing, grant writing, technical writing, and poetry.
